What Our Scholarship Meant For This Student-Athlete

05.22.2017

Aaron Lavergne, pictured below, was awarded with PCA's Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship in 2012 from PCA's Houston Chapter.

Lavergne recently graduated from Lamar University, but before doing so, highlighted the impact that receiving this scholarship had on him in this letter below:

Dear Mr. Johnson and the Positive Coaching Alliance Scholarship Committee,

I wholeheartedly appreciate the contribution that you were able to make to my goal to attend college and see my dreams come to life. You were able to see something special in me before I completely saw it in myself, trusting that I would be a good representation of your organization. It has become that time; I am finishing up the journey of my undergraduate career as a Mechanical Engineering major. I will be graduating from Lamar University this May 13, 2017 at 8:30 am, where my collegiate career will come to an end, but my lifetime career will just begin.

I just want to thank you for your faith in me, allowing me to accomplish my goal. I plan to be that same light to another aspiring student by offering a scholarship to a deserving student because I have seen firsthand what benefit that can bring to the life of an individual. I was able to take advantage of every experience possible while in school, and wouldn't take any of it back. I was able to learn about myself, who I am as a person, and a purpose in which I live by. Because of you, I was able to gain this knowledge; because of you, I was able to grow; because of you, I was able to find me. You have a hand in making me who I am today, and that faith you had back in 2012 does not go unnoticed.

Thank You,
