For the first time in nearly 2 years, PCA-Colorado held an event with over 100 PCA supporters to recognize five Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Winners with college scholarships of $1,000.
The event was held at the Peak Pub House at the Pepsi Center on Saturday, Nov. 3, as partners, professionals, and leaders in youth and high school sports from all over the state convened in celebration of the scholarship winners and their efforts to make themselves, their teammates, and the game better. The event featured Taylor Temby from 9 news prep sports as the Master of Ceremonies.

Amber Gustason, Mountain Range High School
Dyson Oquist, La Junta High School

Although the scholarship winners were clearly the most inspiring part of the morning, we were also joined by keynote speaker Padraig Smith, General Manager of the Colorado Rapids, who inspired the crowd with his words of encouragement and passion for youth sports. Smith was joined by PCA CEO and Founder Jim Thompson, who joined from California and was honored for 20 years of impacting youth through sports.
To end the morning, Dr. Jaren Riley was awarded the 2017 Bill Daniels Triple Impact Professional Award for his work as a pediatric physician at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.
Tom Puzio, PCA-Colorado Executive Director, described the event as "a day of inspiration." To Tom, "Hearing the stories from our Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Winners, from CEO Jim Thompson, and from Padraig Smith, everyone in the room understood what the true meaning of sports was and how important our mission is. It was a great day for PCA-Colorado."
