Doug Galen has been building relationships between the online and offline worlds for some 20 years. He is currently Chief Revenue Officer at shopkick, a Silicon Valley focused on leveraging the power of mobile to transform shopping. Mr Galen is responsible for retailer partnerships and shopkick’s revenue. Shopkick is based in Silicon Valley and backed by Kleiner Perkins and Greylock Partners.
Prior to shopkick, Mr. Galen was senior vice president of business and corporate development at Shutterfly, where he helped grow the business from 100 people to 1,000 and grew the revenues from $50 million to nearly $500 million as well as a successful IPO.
Prior to Shutterfly, Mr. Galen was vice president and general manager of new ventures for eBay, where he helped create eight new business units for the company, such as Tickets & Experiences and Real Estate, with revenues of $500 million.
Prior to eBay, Mr. Galen was Vice President of Sales and Business Development for E-LOAN, Inc., an online home and auto lender. At E-LOAN, he was responsible for creating over 70 corporate alliances, joint ventures and acquisitions – including overseeing the company’s diversification beyond mortgages and into auto loans through the acquisition of Bank of America’s auto finance division and its international expansion.
His foundation for building businesses was matured with The Shidler Group where he spent nine years identifying, negotiating and purchasing over $750 million in commercial properties; shaping company expansion; and identifying new acquisition markets, which culminated in taking two companies public on the NYSE.
Mr. Galen also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Homegain. He received his undergraduate and MBA degrees from University of California, Berkeley. He is an active alumnus, having served on the Alumni Association's Board of Directors, the steering committee for the Incentive Awards Scholarship Program, and as Chairman of the Annual Charter Banquet.
