Speaker and Panelists:


Julie Foudy, PCA National Advisory Board Member, Analyst, ESPN/ABC. Foudy is a 2-time World Cup Champion who served as captain of the USWNT for 13/ 17 years with the program, while earning Olympic gold in 1996 and 2004 and silver in 2000. In addition to being a motivational speaker and mother of two children, Foudy has added author to her resume, having just published a book titled Choose to Matter: Being Courageously and Fabulously YOU, which will be available at the event in exchange for a $20 donation.

Erin Appleman, Yale Women's Volleyball Coach. In fourteen seasons as the leader of the Yale volleyball program, Appleman boasts five straight Ivy League Championships, seven total conference titles, six NCAA appearances and four 20-plus win seasons. Yale’s program has produced five Ivy League Player of the Year selections, five Ivy League Rookies of the Year, 28 All-Ivy First Team awards and 57 total All-Ivy honorees.  The Bulldogs have celebrated the best record in the Ivy League over the last 13 seasons under her leadership.

Meghan McMahon (Yale '87), Former Yale Women's Tennis Coach. In 1994, McMahon became Yale’s head coach, guiding the team to an 82-52 record over eight seasons. She is the mother of two children and presently sits on the board of Mory’s Association, the Yale Sports Federation and NewHYTES, a New Haven based youth mentoring and tutoring program. In 2002 she and her brother founded PlayIvy, a college consulting firm for national junior tennis players.

Patricia Melton (Yale '83), President, New Haven Promise. Patricia has a career of accomplishments in athletics and education. As a Yale track standout, Melton tallied six Ivy individual championships and two Most Outstanding Athlete titles. A Marine Corp Reservist in college, she went on to compete in the 1988 Olympics Trials where she was an 800 meter finalist. Now as the President of the non-profit New Haven Promise, she is helping more than 1,000 scholars make their dreams of college and a career a reality.

Allison Guth, Yale Women's Basketball Coach. In her ten-plus years of coaching, Guth is known as a skilled recruiter and a tremendous mentor to Yale’s student-athletes. In May of 2015 she was named Yale’s 10th head coach in the 43-year history of the women’s basketball program, returning after serving as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Northwestern from 2012-2015 and holding the same position at Yale from 2010-2012. 

Attica Alexis Jaques, Under Armour’s Vice President of Global Brand Marketing for Women and Youth. Since joining the brand in 2016, Jaques has spent her first year at the helm of recent women’s efforts, most notably the widely successful “I’m Pretty” campaign. She also received the honor of being named on Advertising Age’s “Women to Watch” list as one of the twenty women who are breaking new ground in advertising and media. Prior to Under Armour, Jaques held positions at Gap, Barney’s New York and Prada. She is a founding member of the Board of Advisors for Project Inkblot, a media consultancy focused on creating positive images of women and people of color.
